How do I get to Community Baptist Church?
Are there parking places reserved for first time guests?
We have specially designated parking spaces near the auditorium, at the south entrance of our main building. During rainy or snowy weather, there is a canopy you can pull under for drop offs. We do encourage you to arrive at least 10 to 15 minutes early as services start on time.
Are your buildings and services handicap accessible?
There is handicap access for wheel chairs. Those who are hard of hearing may ask the welcome center/sound desk for a device that connects to the sound board.
What happens when I get there?
Our information desk is just inside the main entrance. Our greeters will give you a bulletin and assist you in getting to your class or into the service.
How will I find my way around the facility?
We have greeters and ushers available to help you find your way, as well as very clear signs throughout our building.
What children's programs are available?
Our children's ministry offers Sunday school for children ages birth - 6th grade. We offer beginner church, primary church and junior church for those who prefer to have children in a "children's church" service as they worship. On Wednesday nights, our Expeditions program offers a variety of scripture memory, exciting activities, and Bible instruction.
What do I do before the service starts?
If you arrive before the service starts, you will notice that our auditorium is filled with plenty of comfortable pews. There are no reserved seats, so you may sit anywhere. Many people will be greeting one another during this time.
What are the services like?
Services generally last between 1 hour and 15 minutes and 1 hour and 30 minutes. Our worship services are a time of joyful worship and praise, with a variety of music presented by our choir and orchestra.
How will I know when to stand?
The pastor or the music director will ask the congregation to stand or sit. Often, we will stand while singing and during times of public prayer.
What is the pastor's message like?
Pastor gives Biblically-based messages lasting about 35-45 minutes. The messages are timely and applicable. CDs of the message are available by request through the bookstore. You can also listen to us online.
Do you give public invitations at the end of the service? What are they like?
At the end of his message, Pastor invites anyone who does not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ to accept Him as Savior. He will also ask those who would like to become part of our church family or to be baptized to make that known. Counseling is also available for other spiritual needs.
Do I need to donate money when I visit?
Community Baptist Church does believe tithing is a Biblical principal and we do encourage it. However, our guests should not feel any obligation to participate. During the offering time, if you have filled out the guest welcome card, we will ask you to drop it in the offering plate.
What happens after the service?
We are dismissed from the service and many spend time fellowshiping together in the vestibule.
What small groups or Adult Bible Study classes are offered on Sundays?
We encourage people to visit our Adult Bible Study classes in order to get to know people that are your age. Classes are offered for all ages at 9:30am every Sunday. Greeters at the information desk can direct you to your room and will have the most updated list of adult, teen, children's and preschool classes and locations. They can also guide you to your rooms. This is a time of fellowship, encouragement, and studying the Word of God.
