Extracurricular Opportunities
There are numerous learning opportunities outside the "traditional classroom setting" at Community. Besides the more obvious ones such as fine arts, including drama and music; and sports, students are afforded many, varied extracurricular learning environments.
Here is just a sampling:
Field Trips - Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry, Northern Indiana Center for History, Maple Syrup making at Bendix Woods, Cook Nuclear Plant, regional airports, Kids Museum, the Federal Court House and US Marshal's Headquarters.
Senior Trip to the Smoky Mountain National Forest and The Wilds of North Carolina.
Senior Day to Chicago, including a Navy Pier visit along with an architectural sightseeing boat tour on the Chicago River and Lake Michigan.
Grade School Field Day
Legislative Training in Washington DC for select government students.
Science Demonstration Shows performed by high school students for the grade school classes.
Spirit Week when almost EVERY student dresses up in some very interesting outfits, showing their Cougar Spirit.
